It was a fun day of celebration in our home yesterday as our youngest turned eleven. He has been recuperating from a nasty bout of strep throat, so we were also celebrating his return to good health.

A yummy meal of what we fondly call "Skillet Stuff" was followed by a special birthday cake made by a sweet big sister and the traditional birthday treasure hunt. In our family, we never make getting gifts an easy thing. They are always hidden away somewhere to be found only by following clues or solving a puzzle.

A new Gandalf costume for Moonbeam Cinemas' upcoming Lord of the Rings movie was a big hit, as was the promise of a William Wallace sword to be delivered soon.

We finished out the evening with a private screening of Moonbeam's new Speedy Boy episode, Number 005: The Case of the Siphoned Voltage, with Unc and AL who stopped by for a birthday visit.

All in all, a delightful birthday for a truly delightful son.

We love you, buddy! It is such a blessing to have you in our family. We thank God for you!
